Shipping
How we move things from our shop to you, or to the FFL of your choosing. Firearms have rules; everything else is straightforward.
Firearms ship to an FFL — not your home
Federal law: firearms can only be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee for transfer to you in person. You have two options at checkout:
- Pick up at our counter — free. Your firearm ships to us; you book a pickup window; we run the NICS check and walk you through the 4473 in person.
- Outbound to your local FFL — $30. Search at checkout for an FFL near you (we draw from the ATF's public dealer list). Confirm with that dealer ahead of time that they accept transfers and what their fee is — that's between you and them.
Either way, we don't ship firearms to a residential address. We don't ship to PO boxes. We don't ship to APO/FPO addresses for firearms — federal regulation, not our preference.
Non-firearm items
Ammunition, optics, accessories, gear, merch — these ship to whatever address you provide at checkout. Standard shipping is a flat $14; free over $200 when the order doesn't contain a firearm. Estimated transit: 3–7 business days via USPS / UPS Ground. Tracking gets emailed when the order leaves us.
A few state-level exceptions to be aware of:
- Ammunition can't be shipped to California, Massachusetts, New York, or DC by ground without additional handling. If you're in those jurisdictions, we'll contact you before charging your card to confirm an alternate path or refund.
- Some optics (laser-equipped, certain night vision) have export-restriction implications. If your order contains one of these and ships outside the US, we'll reach out before shipping.
What's "in stock" vs "on request"
"In stock" means we have it on the shelf or our supplier has it in their warehouse for immediate pull. Typical ship time from order: 1–3 business days.
"On request" means we order it from our supplier for you. Lead time depends on what it is — usually 1–3 weeks. We email if anything pushes that window. See the Outfitting page for how this works in more detail.
Receiving a firearm at the counter
Bring photo ID — state-issued, with your current address. If your ID address is out of state, bring a current proof of Virginia residency (utility bill, lease, etc.). The NICS check usually clears in minutes; plan for 20–30 minutes at the counter for the 4473 and walk-through.
If you can't pick it up within 30 days of arrival, contact us. We can store it longer for a reasonable storage period; after that it returns to the sender (less any inbound handling fees).
Receiving a non-firearm package
Most carriers leave packages at the door without a signature. If your order is over $250 we ship signature-required. You can override either default by emailing [email protected] with your order ID — we can hold for in-person handoff at the counter if you'd prefer.
If your package is lost or damaged
Email us within 10 business days of the expected delivery date. Send photos of any damage if applicable. We file the carrier claim and either re-ship or refund — your call. Damaged firearms get an additional service step: we'll coordinate the inspection through the receiving FFL.
International
We don't ship internationally. Export of firearms requires a separate federal license (ITAR / DSP-5) we don't hold. For non-firearm items, contact us and we'll see whether your destination is feasible — usually it isn't worth the freight.
